This past weekend I went on a girls trip to Cancun, Mexico and it was a BLAST. We had so much fun! We stayed at an all-inclusive resort, went snorkeling at a cenote, saw the Tulum ruins, and pool/beach hopped all weekend long. For today’s post, I wanted to round up all my outfits in one spot so they would be easy to find. I had a mix of resort looks with one adventuring look to accommodate our plans.
DAY 1
For breakfast, the girls and I wore our bathings suits and cover-ups so we could head straight to the pool afterwards. I used this puff sleeve romper as a cover-up and it worked perfectly! The necklines matched up at the same length, which made them the perfect pair. I had originally packed this romper as a dinner outfit, but I overpacked (big shocker haha) and had more dinner outfits than I could wear. This romper is so flattering and it’s currently on sale! The pink color I’m wearing is sold out, but it’s available in cream, black, and olive green – perfect transition colors into fall!
My swimsuit for Day 1 was this really pretty floral one-piece. It has a cut-out front and an open back to make it look like a two-piece bikini, yet you have the security of it being one-piece. I felt really comfortable in it and I loved the ruffle details on it! It was perfect for a resort look.
My dinner outfit for Day 1 was a blue ruffle two-piece set – my favorite dinner outfit of the trip! This set is so flattering because it: 1. emphasizes your waist with elastic bands on both the top and skirt and 2. shows just enough skin without it being too revealing or having the fabric swallow your shape. I was also able to wear a normal bra with it which is always a plus! This set is sold out from Abercrombie but I found a really similar style from Pink Lily.
DAY 2
We had a full morning planned on Day 2 where we swam in Gran Cenote and hiked around Tulum Ruins. I wore this pink bikini, two-piece cover-up set, and slides – all from Amazon! I borrowed these slides from my friend Becca and they were SO comfy. I’m definitely ordering a pair for myself because they’re the perfect lake/pool/exploring shoes! I also felt really comfortable and secure in this bikini while adventuring all morning.
For dinner, I wore a floral blue corset, linen shorts, and tie leg wedges. This corset is so versatile and would be a perfect day-to-night piece! I think it would look really nice with white tailored shorts or tailored pants. The corset is sold out on the Zara site, but I linked similar options to it.
DAY 3
On our last day at the resort, we wore our bathing suits with cover-ups to breakfast and headed straight to the beach afterwards. I wore this one-shoulder bathing suit from Victoria’s Secret and paired it with a white sarong. I am OBSESSED with this bathing suit! It was perfect for the resort and the colors are sooo pretty in person. I love the bow on the strap and how unique the back is. AND it’s on sale for $32 -such a steal!! I was also really impressed with this sarong because it’s longer than most of the ones I’ve seen and you can easily adjust the length. It’s also not too see-through, so it still feels like you’re covered up enough to walk around comfortably!
We decided to all wear white dresses on Day 3 and this is the dress I wore! I don’t normally like V-shaped necklines but this one is really flattering and not as sharply angled as others. It also transitions nicely into the bow straps and has a lot of security on the top. This is one of my favorite summer dresses and it’s also available in black and olive green!
And that’s everything I wore in Mexico! Next Friday’s post will be a little more detailed travel guide all about where we stayed and what we did. Thank you so much for stopping by and I’ll see you next Friday!
